PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS
HAZARDS TO HUMANS & DOMESTIC ANIMALS

Danger: Wood dust and splinters can cause eye damage, skin or mucous membrane irritation. Handle in a well-ventilated area. Do not get freshly pressure-treated CCA-Type C wood on skin or in eyes.

Individuals in the work area where CCA Type C pressure-treated wood is being cut, sawn, etc., and proper ventilation is not provided, must wear properly fitting, well maintained, high efficiency respirators, MSHA/NIOSH-approved. Air monitoring programs, procedures, record retention and submission must be conducted in accordance with the instructions and guidelines provided by OSHA.

Environmental Hazards: For guidance contact your State Water Board or Regional Office of the EPA.

CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 WARNING! This product contains a product known to the State of California to cause cancer.

Physical and Chemical Hazards: Do not use or store near intense heat or open flame.

Directions for Use: It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with it’s labeling.

Handling, Storage and Disposal: Disposal in a sanitary landfill is permitted Do not eat or drink while handling CCA Type C pressure treated wood.

Wood Dust: Wood dust, depending on species, may cause dermatitis on prolonged, repetitive contact; may cause respiratory sensitization and/or irritation. Prolonged exposure to wood dust has been reported by some observers to be associated with nasal cancer. Warning: The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IAPC) has determined there is sufficient evidence in humans for the carcinogenicity of wood dust (group 1).

Storage: This product must be stored in a manner that will display a label properly identifying the product and its concentration.

Disposal: Pesticide contaminated wastes are acutely hazardous. Improper disposal of excess residuals as a result of the treatment process at the treatment plant is considered hazardous and is and is in violation of Federal Law. If this waste cannot be disposed of by use according to label instructions, contact your State Pesticide or Control Agency or the Hazardous Waste Representative at the nearest EPA Regional Office for guidance.

WARNING: Some forms of components of the liquid preservative used to manufacture this product (arsenic and chromium) have caused lung, skin, and possibly other cancers in humans occupationally or environmentally overexposed.

STATEMENT OF PRACTICAL TREATMENT

If swallowed: Contact a physician or Poison Control Center for most current information. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

If in eyes: Flush with plenty of water. Minimum flushing is for 15 minute. Call physician. Victim must seek immediate medical attrition.

If on skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention.

Refer to additional precautionary statements elsewhere on the label under the heading, "Precautionary Statements: Hazards to Human and Domestic Animals" and the Consumer Information Sheet for CCA-C pressure-treated wood. Wash hands thoroughly after handling CCA-treated wood. Avoid prolonged frequent inhalation of airborne contaminates as a result of or sawing treated wood whenever possible. These operations should be performed outdoors.

SPECIFIC USE INSTRUCTIONS

Do not attempt to use without implementing the necessary safety procedures and equipment. Impregnation procedures must rigidly adhere to the current specifications of the American Wood Preservers Association. Treated wood is provided protection against termites, ascomycetes, brown rot, dry rot and white rot.

Applicators at the treatment plant must wear gloves impervious to the wood treatment formulation in all situations where dermal contact is expected (e.g., handling freshly treated wood).

Provide good ventilation where wood dust conditions may occur to maintain healthful working conditions.

Applicators must not eat, drink or use tobacco products during those parts of the application process that may expose them to the wood treatment formulation (e.g., handling freshly treated wood).

Processes used to apply inorganic and arsenical formulations shall leave no visible surface deposits on the wood, as defined by AWPA Started C-1 (visible surface deposits means a surface residue or crystallization on the treated wood. Small isolated or infrequent spots of chemical on otherwise clean wood shall be allowed).
